Before I infuriate my ever-patient best blogging buddy Pearl at Fresh-perspectives.net, who was sweet enough to tag me in my first meme, it’s about time I finally get to this post. After all, it’s not like it’s a chore I’ve been avoiding!

I actually just wanted to really think about this list of reasons, and somehow manage to not copy Pearl’s own list…because, and if you check out here wonderful site you’ll see what I mean, I think she captured the essence of why most humans would take the time and make the effort to create a blog in the first place. The blogosphere is, to me anyway, first and most importantly a community…one which we are in entirely by our own choice and one in which we can participate only to the extent we truly want to…for me that’s a virtual utopia.

OK so I’ll try to articulate my 5 reasons…in no particular order…

• I love to write - for no one in particular and everyone in the world, it’s my number 1 lifelong fantasy…fancying myself a writer.
• It slows me down - too often my life accelerates out of control. Anyone else in this sphere probably knows what I mean when I say writing in this medium slows one down, usually bringing a certain calm to my life.
• It’s a pretty big world out there - blogging for me seems to reduce it to the size of my laptop. As an unabashed celebrant of world culture…this is important to me.
• Money, yes…money. Why not?
• This last one is really wishful thinking, I know, but I like to think that somewhere along the way I’ll actually contribute something…to the world…or just to someone.

OK…there they are…I hope Pearl finds me again so she can see that I did it!!

I think I’m supposed to tag 5 more bloggers…I promise to do that soon…but life just pushed the throttles forward again!
