A couple of quick noteworthy changes in my own personal newsreader - I thought they were important enough to mention here.
First the sad news. One of my absolute favorite bloggers is pulling the lid down on a truly useful and entertaining site.
Armen, at ieffect.net, was one of the first few inclusions in my blogroll. His site got me thinking about design and some of the technical aspects of blogging, turned me on to some of the best plugins and widgets I currently use, and also provided a little much needed perspective on what one might really want to do with blog…other than the old standard: make money.
I thank you Armen for those things and the intangible contribution you made to the community as a whole.
Of course anyone reading this can go to his site for an explanation of why he’s made this choice. I could try to describe it here…but I could never come close to his own eloquence on his feelings. The good news on this is that I believe he will be contributing elsewhere in the blogosphere…he’ll give you more details on that if you ask; and also that, many of us hope and believe, ieffect.net will stay up and available in it’s present form…and excellent resource as is…so do check it out.
On a much happier note…the always inspiring Jane May is still going strong…just under a different name. The former Jane May Blogs is now Daily Web Ideas. Now this is of course good news, at least the part about JM still putting it out there, especially since as most of you probably know she sold Career Ramblings a short while ago.
I personally, however, will have to get used to the new name. I think it’s just because I was so impressed with how successfully she had managed to brand herself, and the fact that her name just happens to flow so nicely, especially with “blogs” added to the end. Still the important thing here is that the one and only Jane May is still providing some of the very best guidance on successful business operation, and generation, on the net.
As always I’m looking forward to more from Jane, and I’ll miss having more to look forward to from Armen.
I am curious…anybody else care to share their reaction to Jane May’s new site name, Daily Web Ideas?

Not worthy of such praise my friend, but deeply appreciated. Everytime I hit the publish button, I had no idea if it would benefit anyone.
Thank you again. Within the next few hours, expect another post on iffect.net.
