A Brief Intermission - And Maybe a Case Study

Just a quick note to all of my loyal readers…yes, both of you…that it will be a little quiet here for the next few days, at most.

One of the very few reasons I would do this is to help someone set up their own blog…and not just anyone, my beloved partner (Californiaese for wife here in LA!) is finally seeing the light on this “slightly more grown-up chat thing” I’ve been so lost in lately!

The site is Moms Writing. We’re only just now bringing it online and trying to get the start-up content going to have something for new visitors to see when she lures them there.

The content, and the luring of new readers, will be all her part….and believe me she’s more than up to it! I’m just helping with the structural set-up part of getting a blog going, which is what leads me to the case study.

I’m considering documenting the process here as a learning experience for any new readers who may happen by. I think that may be of some value here…what do you think?

I also want to add this; I have, in the course of reading other bloggers who blog about blogging, come across two different opinions about one blog vs. many blogs…mostly from a pro blogging point of view. Two good examples of the side I come down on are these posts from ProBlogger and DoshDosh.

Because I fall into the category of not starting a second (or more) blog until the first one is on some kind of autopilot, or at least will not suffer from lack of attention, I would not take any time away from this site to start another of my own. I have another one in the works but haven’t given it any real attention yet for that very reason, this blog comes first, so both will ultimately be better cared for that way. This in turn provides a better service to my readers, which is the whole point.

I hope this makes sense, and I really hope someone will come visit Moms Writing…in time I know if we build it right….they will come!
